Economic News Summary: Unusually Uncertain?

My latest Economic Summary brings us some uncertain news – literally. Recently, Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, described the economic outlook as “unusually uncertain.” Wow!

This uncertainty is taking its toll on the Index of Small Business Optimism, as it reaches an unprecedented streak of poor showings. If anything is certain, it’s that small businesses can’t feel optimistic in an uncertain economy.
