About
About David Weatherholt
David Weatherholt has been involved in numerous business start-ups, having traveled the sometimes rough and often lonely path of entrepreneur and innovator. He finds that entrepreneurs, small business owners and executives get caught up in the day-to-day activities of their businesses and lose sight of the larger picture, often failing to see or correctly interpret shifts in their business model, the economy, or their industry, producing costly results. His first hand experience with this problem provides the passion and goal behind his consulting practice.
His business talk radio program “Getting Down to Business,” a newsletter known as Business/News & Views®, and the “Learning Center” provide the basis for this bold new approach to consulting. He is also working on a book entitled, A Wild Ride, which is a detailed account of what it took to bring a sports entertainment business to Alaska, the “Last Frontier.”
Alaska Professional Sports, Inc. and the Alaska Wild indoor football team were the results of his pioneering efforts. This business and entrepreneurial experience combined with solid academic credentials allows Weatherholt to translate business theory into useful business applications producing advice you can use.
Mr. Weatherholt has a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing with a minor in Accounting from Alaska Pacific University. He also holds an Associate of Art Degree in Graphic Arts and an Associate of Art Degree in Professional Management.
He has taught business and accounting courses for Alaska Pacific University, the University of Alaska’s American Russian Center, and the American Institute of Banking. His courses have included advanced cost and managerial accounting, survey of accounting, intermediate accounting, international business planning, economics, customer service, business writing, sales, and management fundamentals. While in Russia, he was a guest lecturer at the Northern International University’s Finance Department in Magadan and at Yakutsk State University in Yakutsk.
