The mission of the CEO Club is to provide practical business advice to entrepreneurs and small business owners.  I am a serial entrepreneur and have been involved in numerous business start-ups, travelling the sometimes rough, but always exciting path of entrepreneur.  These first-hand experiences, combined with an advanced business education, form the core of my consulting practice.

My passion for communicating with entrepreneurs and small business owners led to the development of some truly innovative business communication tools.  They include an informative e-newsletter, “Business/News & Views,®” a groundbreaking business talk-radio program, “Getting Down to Business,” a popular blog/web site, business management tools, and the “CEO Club.”

What is Business to Business Mentoring?

We have all been influenced by different people during our lives.  Parents, teachers, coaches, heroes or friends.  These special people give advice, information, encouragement and even correction, which is all meant to give us the wisdom of their experience.

Mentoring is a caring, sharing and helping relationship where one person invests time, experience and energy to improve another person’s growth, knowledge and skill.  Responding to the crucial needs of another person preparing them for increased performance, productivity and achievement is the role of a mentor.

Major corporations assign experienced senior executives to less experienced junior leaders to provide direction, encouragement, guidance, and training. Thus developing experienced leaders to ensure the future viability and growth of the organization. Understanding the success and mistakes of others is very powerful.  Gaining knowledge from people who have been there is the best way to learn.

Your Benefits

In a small business you need to play two roles. First, you need to be on the front line each day with your customers, employees, contractors and vendors. Second, you need to be the creative thinker and decision-maker, so you can lead your employees and business down a successful and fulfilling path.

How can a small business like yours benefit from a mentoring program?  A successful business doesn’t just happen, it is the result of good ideas, hard work, investment, organization, planning, promotion and taking advantage of lucky breaks.  This mentoring program utilizes proven techniques, allowing you to move your business to not only the “next level” but move it to the “correct level.”

Monthly meetings plus one-on-one sessions provide you an opportunity to focus on the big picture, stepping back and taking a fresh look at your business, see it as others do.  This on-going partnership combines group peer-to-peer input with that of an experienced executive ,all designed to make your business a force in its market.  These meetings will provide:

  • Constructive feedback for ideas/plans
  • Professional development
  • Improved decision-making
  • Planned growth
  • Team building
  • Develop a board of directors
  • One-on-one telephone support
  • Four hours per month of one-on-one consulting

Group Dynamics

The group will be limited to 6 business owners, i.e. chief executive officers, from non-competing businesses, coming together to form a senior level management team.  All team members are required to attend regular monthly meetings and come prepared to discuss their business in terms of: Successes, What is working, What is not working, Challenges, Short term goals (the next month), and Long term goals (the next 12 months).  The monthly group meeting will be conducted similarly to a regular board meeting, using modified Roberts Rules of Order, with a pre-meeting agenda developed to provide everyone equal time to prepare and participate.  Members will:

  • Listen while others speak
  • Communicate respectfully with team members
  • Keep meeting discussions confidential

Being part of the CEO Club means:

  • Developing a personal one-on-one relationship with our mentors and other members
  • Setting goals
  • Setting deadlines to meet those goals
